About This Call
Two Southern California artists, Rhonda Burton and Susan Spector, are seeking artwork donations for the silent art auction portion of the Art Is Hope Exhibition Gala & Fundraiser to benefit the Salvation Army of Santa Monica. The Gala will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 5:30-8pm at the Salvation Army Santa Monica, 1533 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA.
Artists are invited to donate 2D and 3D artwork. Submissions are limited to one piece per artist, with a maximum size of 40x40 inches including frame (3D work limited to 24x24 inches). All 2D artwork must be framed and ready to hang with hanging wire; 2D work on canvas does not need to be framed. No sawtooth picture hangers. Artwork submissions must be high resolution JPGs (1-5MB). Please do not submit nudes, profanity, political statements, or AI-generated work. All artwork must be hand-delivered; no shipping. Artists are advised to self-insure their artwork.
The money raised will support homelessness outreach, assistance for families facing food and housing insecurities with peer support, and community enhancement projects. Donation letters for sold artwork will be emailed to artists by the Salvation Army Santa Monica. All unsold work will be returned to artists. Artwork drop-off is Sunday, October 27, 1-4pm or Tuesday, October 29, 3-7pm. Pickup of unsold artwork is Sunday, November 3, 1-4pm or by appointment during the week. Entry deadline is Tuesday, October 15, 11:59pm MST. Artists agree to allow the Salvation Army Santa Monica, Rhonda Burton, and Susan Spector to reproduce their artwork for advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes.
