Art in the Village 2026 - Carlsbad

For nearly three decades, the Carlsbad Village Association has hosted Art in the Village, a free, one-day, open-air art show featuring extraordinary work of fine artists from all over the region. The 2025 event brought together over 145 local and regional fine artists and musicians for a festive day of visual and performing arts. The event celebrates the dynamic fine art culture in Carlsbad Village and surrounding areas, attracting thousands of residents and travelers with a diverse selection of fine artists working in media such as painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), classical and contemporary sculpture, glass, drawing, photography, metal, digital art, printmaking, wood, fiber, and mixed media.

The show takes place Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 10AM to 6PM along State Street and Grand Avenue in the heart of downtown Carlsbad Village. Starting at 10AM, attendees browse exhibiting artist booths, watch performance art, enjoy interactive demos, and listen to live music. Artist spaces are approximately 10' wide x 10' deep, and artists must provide their own tent, racks, tables, and fixtures. The $30 application fee is due with submission, and upon acceptance, the $250 artist space fee is required. Items sold must be original and handcrafted by the displaying artist, with no buy/sell or imported items allowed.

Applications open October 1, 2025, with a deadline of January 16, 2026. Late applications are accepted after the deadline with an increased fee of $40. All applications are juried and confirmed on a rolling basis until the show reaches sold out status. Artists must have a valid California Sellers Permit and be present for the entirety of the show. The event takes place rain or shine, and artists receive complimentary amenities including water/snacks, roaming booth sitters, artist parking, and an online artist gallery.
