Art in the Time of Corona™ (Year 2) | A Global Art Project

ART IN THE TIME OF CORONA™ is a comprehensive pandemic art project launched by Dab Art Co. in April 2020. The second year (VOL. 2) features an ongoing online exhibition updated monthly, a full color publication of all selected works, international and multi-city gallery exhibitions, and a documentary film short featuring selected artists. The project aims to record and exhibit defining artwork created during civil uncertainty.

Submissions are accepted in the following media: Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Glass, Fiber, Functional, Digital, Photography, Installation, mixed media and New Genres. Artists may submit 3-20 images for $35 (basic fee for 3 images) plus $5 per additional image. An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. All selected work must remain available for sale for the duration of the project and must be original, unsold work with sole copyright owned by the artist.

The project runs through 2023 with three phases: Phase 1 features an online exhibition running through March 2023, with artists reviewed and added monthly. Selected artists will be featured on the Dab Art Co. website and ARTSY platform. Phase 2 includes a full color publication released in February 2022, with 10 featured artists receiving additional recognition and hardback copies. The publication will be added to LACMA's Balch Art Research Library permanent catalog. Phase 3 consists of multi-gallery exhibitions scheduled for spring/summer 2022 in Los Angeles, Ventura, Austin, and Mexico City. A documentary film short will be screened in Los Angeles in April 2022. Notifications for gallery exhibition selections will be sent by January 31, 2022.
