ART IN THE TIME OF CORONA™ (VOL.3) | A Global Project

ART IN THE TIME OF CORONA™ is a comprehensive pandemic art project launched by Dab Art Co. in April 2020. The project selects 30-40 new artists each month for exhibition and has already selected almost 1000 artists. The goal is to record and exhibit defining artwork created during civil uncertainty.

The project runs through 2023 and includes three phases: an ongoing online exhibition (updated monthly) featuring selected works on the Dab Art Co. website and ARTSY platform, a full-color publication titled ART IN THE TIME OF CORONA™ | Vol. 3 to be released in Summer 2023 and added to the LACMA Balch Art Research Library permanent catalog, and multi-city gallery exhibitions in Los Angeles, Ventura, Austin, and Mexico City scheduled for Spring 2023. Ten artists from the online exhibition will receive additional features in the publication and hardback copies. A documentary film short featuring selected artists will be produced and screened in Los Angeles.

Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. The entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. Submissions should include at least 3 images, biography, and artist statement. All selected work must remain available for sale for the duration of the project. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Gallery exhibition notifications will be sent by January 31, 2023. All work must be original, unsold, with the artist owning sole copyright. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring.
