About This Call
Art in the Park has been going on since 1973 as a judged show in a beautiful treed park two blocks from the ocean and in the center of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is the 53rd year of the event, taking place at Market Common Valor Park with show hours from 10AM to 4PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Application requirements include 4 photos of work, 1 photo of display with work, and jury fees. Non-WACG members pay $140.00 per space plus $10.00 non-refundable jury fee, while WACG members pay $125.00 per space plus $5.00 non-refundable jury fee. Under the direction of JoAnne Utterback, artists only need to be judged once. Set-up takes place all day Friday before the show and Saturday morning before 9AM. Spaces measure 10ft x 10ft and vehicles are not allowed in the park itself.
All work exhibited must be original work created by the displaying artist without purchased molds, kits or commercial mass production processes. Reproductions are allowed but cannot exceed 50% of the total exhibit. Artists must collect 6% South Carolina sales tax and are responsible for sales tax licenses. Security will be provided but exhibitors must take reasonable precautions. The jury process averages 60 applications with 40 artists selected, plus 40 exempt returning artists based on participation history.
