About This Call
Art in the Park heralds the start of summer in Columbia, MO - an arts-focused college town, home to the University of Missouri and the recipient of the Missouri Arts Council's first ever Creative Community Award. The Columbia Art League, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has organized Art in the Park since its inception in the 1950's. Each year the festival welcomes approximately 110 artists from across the country and attracts 22,000 visitors over the two-day event. Set amidst the parkland and lakeside of the picturesque Stephens Lake Park, 2026 marks the 67th anniversary of Art in the Park.
The festival takes place Saturday, June 6 (10am-5pm) and Sunday, June 7 (10am-4pm) at Stephens Lake Park. Application fee is $35 (non-refundable). Booth fees range from $230-$310 for single booths and $470-$570 for double booths, with member discounts available. Artists can choose between two-dimensional work (painting, drawing, printmaking, digital, photography, 2D mixed media, fiber) or three-dimensional work (sculpture, wood, metal, glass, jewelry, ceramics, 3D mixed media). Five images and one booth shot are required for submission.
Cash awards total $5,400, including Best in Show ($1,250), 2nd Place ($1,000), 3rd Place ($750), Mayor's Choice ($300), and eight Awards of Excellence ($300 each). Artist benefits include breakfast on both days, lunch delivery, free festival merchandise, water delivery, booth sitters, volunteer assistance, free parking, hospitality tent, overnight security, and hotel discounts. Award winners are automatically invited back to the following year's show.
