About This Call
The Art Selection Committee of the Loveland Public Library seeks art by Colorado artists or artist teams for 2021 exhibits in the Galleria spaces. The Galleria display cases provide artists with valuable public exposure and sales opportunities. The Library incorporates five display cases within pillars along the Galleria, with inside dimensions of 21" w x 69" h x 19" d. Artwork must fit within these display case limits, and hanging systems allow a maximum weight of 16 pounds for hanging art.
Artwork selected in 2020 will be on display for one of four three-month periods in 2021: January 1 through March 31, April 1 through June 30, July 1 through September 30, or October 1 through December 31. Applicants must reside in Colorado and may apply as individuals or as part of a team. Each piece of art submitted must fit within the confines of a Galleria display case. The entry fee is $10.00. Artists may submit images of up to six distinct artworks, or up to 18 images total if including multiple views of sculptural pieces.
Submissions must include a concept statement, current resume, detailed information on each piece (title, dimensions, medium, date produced, price/value, sale status, and other pertinent information), and images of the artwork. Sales while the piece is on display will be handled by the Friends of the Loveland Public Library, who retain a 20% commission on sales, with proceeds paid to the artist within 30 days. Selected artists are responsible for transportation of their work to and from the gallery. A $100 prize for Best of Show for the Year will be awarded in November 2021.
