About This Call
Art in the Chambers invites two-dimensional artworks for an exhibition exploring the theme "Our Diversitastic! Orange County." Artists are welcome to submit works that celebrate diversity in the community and the interweaving of different backgrounds, cultures, and religions. The exhibition will be displayed inside the BCC Chambers at the Orange County Administration Center (201 S. Rosalind Ave.) in downtown Orlando, Florida, from October 5, 2018 to February 15, 2019.
Submissions must include a minimum of 1 image and a maximum of 6 images of finished works, along with a resume and artwork explanation. There is no application fee. Selection will be based on creativity, interpretation of the theme, and site appropriateness, as determined by the Public Art Review Board. Selected artists must transport artwork to the site on the specified date ready for display. The BCC Chambers uses a wire-hanging system requiring D-ring mounts or wire for hanging. Orange County will insure artwork up to its stated value or $50,000, whichever is less, for theft or major vandalism. Sales of works will be encouraged, with inquiries forwarded to the artist or designated agent at no commission. Notification of acceptance will be provided on September 7, 2018. An opening reception is scheduled for October 19, 2018, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Artists must remove artwork by February 15, 2019.
For questions, contact Terry Olson at 407-836-5540 or [email protected].
