Art in the Beartooths 2022

The Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery invites invited artists and members of the Carbon County Arts Guild to participate in the 49th Annual Art in the Beartooths Exhibition and Auction. All work selected will be on view in the gallery July 1-26, 2022 at the Carbon County Arts Guild in Red Lodge, Montana. Bidding on items in the exhibition will take place July 9-26 online as a silent auction through Handbid, open to all via mobile phone app, tablet, or computer.

Artists may submit up to 2 entries. Work must be original, made by the artist, and executed within the last five years. Acceptable mediums include paintings, mixed media, pastels, drawings, ceramics, fine woodwork, textiles, photographs, jewelry, and sculpture. Computer-generated artwork, prints (including giclee's), crafts, and work submitted to past auctions are not permitted. Two-dimensional pieces exceeding 48" on any one side including the frame and three-dimensional works exceeding 2' by 2' by 3' or weighing over 50 pounds are considered oversized and will not be accepted.

Submissions deadline is June 1, 2022. Artists will be notified of acceptance by June 6. All accepted art must be received at the gallery by June 23. Upon acceptance, work may be shipped or hand-delivered; the artist is responsible for all delivery, return packing, insurance, and shipping costs. All 2D art must have a secure wire in the back and be ready to hang. All 3D art must have proper supports and hanging devices. Because this is a fundraiser, artists may choose to contribute either 50% or 100% of the auction sale price to the Carbon County Arts Guild. Artists may place a reserve price on their work, or choose no reserve. Unsold art is ready for pickup July 27.
