About This Call

The City of Frisco seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 24th installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region by bringing unifying, community-centric and family-friendly artworks to Frisco and enhancing Frisco's cultural identity. The exhibition is scheduled for Monday, June 12, 2023 through Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.

Artists may submit up to two images of original artwork. All artwork must have been created within the past 2 years and must be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached. Unframed canvases with wire securely attached are acceptable but must have finished edges. The maximum artwork size is 60 inches (vertical) x 60 inches (horizontal). Photographs must be printed on quality paper at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Three-dimensional artwork will not be considered. All artworks must be delivered and picked up in-person on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 (10 am to 2 pm, and 4 to 7 pm) at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center (6101 Frisco Square Blvd., Frisco, TX 75034), 1st floor Executive Conference Room (Rm C130). Shipped artworks will not be accepted, and return shipping will not be provided.

Exhibited works will be selected by the Public Art Board based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, demonstrated excellence of technique, and whether the artwork reflects the shared values of the City of Frisco. Selected artists will be required to sign a loan agreement. Artwork on display may be for sale by the artist, provided that any artwork sold remains on display until the conclusion of the exhibition. The City of Frisco does not receive a commission on sales. Artwork submitted may also be considered by the Public Art Board for purchase into the City's permanent collection. Artists must pick up artwork on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 (10 am to 2 pm, and 4 to 7 pm).
