About This Call
The City of Frisco seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 23rd installment of Art in the Atrium in celebration of 15 years of the program. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region by bringing unifying, community-centric and family-friendly artworks to Frisco and enhancing Frisco's cultural identity.
Artists may submit up to two images of original artwork. All artwork must have been created within the past 2 years and must be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached. Unframed canvases with wire securely attached are acceptable but must have finished edges. Three-dimensional artwork will not be considered. Photographs must be printed on quality paper at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. The maximum artwork size is 60 inches (vertical) x 60 inches (horizontal). All artworks must be delivered and picked up in-person on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 (10 am to 2 pm, and 4 to 7 pm) at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center (6101 Frisco Square Blvd., Frisco, TX 75034). Shipped artworks will not be accepted and return shipping will not be provided. Artwork will be available for loan from Wednesday, September 28, 2022 through Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Exhibited works will be selected by the Public Art Board based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, demonstrated excellence of technique, and whether the artwork reflects the shared values of the City of Frisco. The exhibition runs from Monday, October 3, 2022 through Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center. Artwork on display may be for sale by the artist, and the City may consider selected artwork for purchase into its permanent collection. Selected artists will be required to sign a loan agreement.
