About This Call
The City of Frisco seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 22nd installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region, encourage public dialogue and understanding of visual art, and promote the City's cultural initiatives.
Eligibility and Requirements: All artworks must be original and created within the past 2 years. Artists may submit up to two images of original artwork. All artwork must be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached. Unframed canvases with wire securely attached are acceptable but must have finished edges. No 3-dimensional artwork will be considered. Photographs must be printed on quality paper at 300 dpi minimum. Maximum artwork size is 60 inches (vertical) x 60 inches (horizontal). All artwork must be appropriate to an office setting and suitable for viewing by public officials, City employees, and citizens, including children. Submissions must be made through www.callforentry.org by March 2, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST and must include current contact information and an artist statement describing artistic vision and process.
The exhibition runs from April 11, 2022 through September 14, 2022 at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center. Selected artworks will be displayed in designated atrium areas on the first through fifth floors. Artists must deliver framed artwork and a signed loan agreement on April 6, 2022 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 4 to 7 p.m. Artwork pickup is scheduled for September 15, 2022 during the same hours. An artist reception is scheduled for May 2, 2022 from 7 to 8 p.m. Artwork may be offered for sale by the artist, with the City receiving no commission. The City may consider selected artwork for purchase into its permanent collection, with terms to be negotiated.
