About This Call
The City of Frisco seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 21st installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region, encourage public dialogue and understanding of visual art, and promote the City's cultural initiatives. Art in the Atrium 21 is scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2021 through Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.
Artists may submit one image of original artwork created within the past 2 years. All artwork must be original and not infringe on copyrighted content. Artwork must be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached, or unframed canvases with wire and finished edges are acceptable. No 3-dimensional artwork will be considered. The maximum artwork size is 60 inches (vertical) x 60 inches (horizontal). Photographs must be printed on quality paper at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Submissions must be made through www.callforentry.org by Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT and must include current contact information and an artist statement describing your artistic vision and process.
Selected artworks will be reviewed by the Frisco Public Art Board based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. All artists will receive written notice of acceptance or rejection. Selected artists must sign a loan agreement and deliver artwork on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 between 10 am-2 pm or 4-8 pm. Artwork may be for sale by the artist, with the City receiving no commission. The City of Frisco may consider artwork for purchase into its permanent collection. An artist reception is scheduled for Monday, December 6, 2021 from 6:30-8 pm. Artwork pickup is Wednesday, March 2, 2022 between 10 am-2 pm or 4-8 pm.
