About This Call
The City of Frisco seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 18th installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region, encourage public dialogue and understanding of visual art, and promote the City's cultural initiatives. Art in the Atrium 18 is scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2019 through Friday, September 6, 2019, at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.
Artists may submit up to three images of original artwork. All artworks must have been created within the past two years, be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached, and not exceed 60 inches vertical by 60 inches horizontal. No 3-dimensional artworks will be considered. Photographs must be printed on quality paper at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Submissions must be made through www.callforentry.org by Monday, February 22, 2019, at 4:00pm CST and must include current contact information, an artist statement, and digital images in .jpg format with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the shortest side. Each image must include the artist's name, artwork title, date of completion, medium, size in inches, a description of motivation and process, and price if for sale.
Selected artworks will be reviewed by the Frisco Public Art Board based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. Selected artists must sign a loan agreement and deliver framed artwork on Monday, March 18, 2019, between 10am-2pm or 4pm-8pm at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center. Artwork may be for sale during the exhibition, with the artist responsible for all aspects of the sale and the City receiving no commission. The City may consider artwork for purchase into its permanent collection. An artist reception is scheduled for Monday, April 1, 2019, from 6:30pm to 8pm. Artwork pickup is Monday, September 9, 2019, between 10am-2pm or 4pm-8pm.
