About This Call
The City of Frisco Public Art Program seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 16th installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region, encourage public dialogue and understanding of visual art, and promote the City's cultural and economic initiatives. Art in the Atrium 16 is scheduled for April 9, 2018 through September 7, 2018 at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.
Artists may submit up to three images of original artwork. All artworks must have been created within the past two years, be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached, and not exceed 60 inches vertical by 60 inches horizontal. Photographs must be printed on quality paper at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. No 3-dimensional artworks will be considered. Selected artworks will be available for loan from March 23, 2018 through September 10, 2018. Submissions must be made through www.callforentry.org by February 19, 2018 at 4:00pm CST and include current contact information, an artist statement, and digital images in .jpg format with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the shortest side.
Selection will be based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. All artists will receive written notice of acceptance or rejection. Selected artists must sign a loan agreement and deliver artwork on March 23, 2018 between 10am-2pm or 4pm-8pm at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center. Artwork may be sold during the exhibition, and the City reserves the right to consider artwork for purchase into its permanent collection. For questions, contact the Frisco Purchasing Division at [email protected] by February 2, 2018 at 4:00pm CST.
