About This Call
The City of Frisco Public Art Program seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks by artists from Frisco and the surrounding area for the 15th installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition will showcase artistic excellence in the region, encourage public dialogue and understanding of visual art, and promote the City's cultural and economic initiatives. Art in the Atrium 15 is scheduled for October 9, 2017 through March 9, 2018 at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.
Artists may submit up to three images of original artwork. All artworks must have been created within the past two years, be framed and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached, and not exceed 48 inches (vertical) x 48 inches (horizontal). No 3-dimensional artworks will be considered. Submissions must be made through www.callforentry.org by August 21, 2017 at 4:00pm CST and include current contact information, an artist statement, and digital images in .jpg format with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the shortest side. Each image must include the artist's name, artwork title, date of completion, medium, size in inches, a description of motivation and process, and price if for sale.
Selected artworks will be reviewed by the Frisco Public Art Board based on compliance with requirements, appropriateness of content, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. Selected artists must sign a loan agreement and deliver artwork on September 29, 2017. An artist reception is scheduled for October 16, 2017. Artwork may be offered for sale during the exhibition, and the City may consider pieces for purchase into its permanent collection. Artists must pick up artwork by March 12, 2018.
