About This Call
The City of Frisco Public Art Program seeks 2-dimensional works of art by artists from Frisco and the surrounding North Texas area for the 14th installment of Art in the Atrium. The exhibition showcases regional artistic endeavors and encourages public dialogue, understanding and enjoyment of visual art. Art in the Atrium 14 is scheduled for Monday, April 10, 2017 through Friday, September 8, 2017 at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.
Visual artists who live or work in the North Texas area and are at least 18 years old are invited to submit no more than five images of original artwork available for loan beginning Thursday, March 23, 2017 through Monday, September 11, 2017. Artwork must have been created within the past 3 years and must be suitable for hanging. No 3-D artwork will be considered. Submissions must include an artist statement with current contact information, no more than 5 digital images in .jpg format (minimum 1200 pixels on the shortest side), and an annotated image list with artist name, title, date of completion, medium, size in inches, and price if for sale. The submission deadline is Monday, February 20, 2017.
Selections will be reviewed by the Frisco Public Art Board based on demonstrated excellence in conceptual, aesthetic and technical terms, professional qualifications and relevant experience, and appropriateness to the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center. Selected artists will be notified in early March 2017. Artwork may be sold while on display, and the City of Frisco does not receive commission on sales. Artwork submitted may also be considered for purchase into the City's permanent collection. The City reserves the right to remove or relocate artwork at its sole discretion.
