About This Call

The Village Theatre and Art Gallery is hosting its 15th annual juried exhibition with the theme Art in Miniature. The exhibition will be on view from July 12 to September 20, 2025, with an opening reception on July 12. Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 30, and accepted artwork must arrive the week of July 7.

Artists are invited to submit original miniature artworks in various mediums including paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Artwork must be 4" x 6" or less. Miniature art is defined as fine art on a small scale with minute attention to detail that can withstand close inspection or enlargement. As a guideline, subjects should be no larger than 1/6th of their actual size (for example, a painted human head should be no larger than 1.5 inches). Non-representational work such as abstracts or surrealism may meet the spirit of miniature if it meets this definition. All mediums are accepted except photographic work, computer-generated work, and artwork created by photographic, digital, laser, giclee, or A.I. techniques. Only original artwork is accepted.

Artists may submit up to three pieces for a $30 entry fee. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Fees must be paid at the time of submission. Submissions open March 3 and close May 17, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
