About This Call
The 2nd annual Art in Bloom fine art exhibition will take place in April 2015 at the historic Depot Arts Center in Anacortes, featuring 20-25 selected fine and booth artists. Proceeds support cultural programming and arts education for K-12 school children.
Each selected artist will display 3-5 pieces available for sale, with the Festival retaining a 50% commission. The Festival will offer $1,000 in awards: $500 for People's Choice and $500 for Best of Show. The exhibition runs April 12-18 (11am-4pm daily), with art intake on Saturday, April 4th (or Thursday, April 2nd as an alternative), private opening on Friday, April 10th at the Festival's Evening of Color event, and public opening on Saturday, April 11th at the Farmer's Market (9am-2pm) with an evening artist opening (6-9pm). Art pickup is April 19th.
The application is open to both 2D work (painting, photography) and 3D work (sculpture, ceramic, glass, jewelry, fiber arts). All selected 2D artwork must be original work with no prints or giclees allowed, except photography. All work must be ready for display upon arrival, with wall-mounted pieces requiring adequate hangers and/or wire, and three-dimensional work needing adequate installation instructions if required. Artwork mailed to the office must arrive before April 1, 2015, and must include a return label or sufficient funds for return postage. All accepted work must be available from April 4 through April 19 and must be for sale. Festival insurance covers up to $2,500 per piece; additional insurance must be covered by the individual artist. Artists will receive payment within two weeks after the event for any work sold.
