About This Call
The Anacortes Arts Festival is presenting the 3rd annual Art in Bloom fine art exhibition April 15-23, 2016, at the historic Depot Arts Center in Anacortes, Washington. The exhibition is part of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and will feature 20-25 regional artists. This is a juried show including both 2D and 3D work with no theme requirement.
The Festival Curatorial Team, comprised of arts professionals and an internationally recognized artist, will jury the exhibit. Each selected artist will show 2-5 pieces. Work is for sale with the Festival retaining a 50% commission (40% for bronze sculpture). The Festival will offer $1,000 in awards including a $500 People's Choice award and $500 Best of Show award.
Applications are open to both 2D work (painting, photography) and 3D work (sculpture, ceramic, glass, jewelry, fiber arts). All selected 2D artwork must be original work—no giclee prints allowed. All work must be ready for display upon arrival, with wall-mounted pieces requiring adequate hangers and/or wire. Three-dimensional work needs adequate installation instruction if it requires more than a standard pedestal. Artwork mailed to the office must arrive before April 7, 2016, and must include a prepaid return label. All accepted work must be available from April 10 through April 24. Festival insurance will cover up to $2,500 per piece while on exhibition; additional insurance must be covered by the individual artist. Artists will receive payment within two weeks after the event for any work sold. Entry fee is $15.00. Applicants must submit 3-5 images of their work.
