About This Call
The Eighteenth annual Art in Autumn Outdoor Arts and Crafts Festival takes place Saturday, September 20, 2025, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Weaverville, North Carolina, located in Buncombe county 7 miles from downtown Asheville. Sponsored by the Weaverville Business Association, the festival features 114 juried artists and craftspeople and live music. In recent years, Weaverville has established itself as a culturally rich destination point, with its now well-established street festival each September.
Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($250), and 4 honorable mentions at $50 each. Application fee is $35, and if invited, booth fee is $165. An esteemed judge from the Asheville area art and craft community is selected each year to judge the booths on the day of the show. All applicants must submit 4 images of their work and participate in jury process, with 3 images reflecting current work of excellent quality and one booth shot required. Application deadline is June 15th, 2025 and invited artists will receive notification by July 1st, 2025.
Booth spaces are limited to 114 artists in 10'x10' spaces on Main Street's asphalt surface. Set-up time begins at 6 am, exhibitors must check in before 9 a.m., and all booths must be removed by 8 p.m. Exhibitors must register with the NC Department of Revenue and obtain a sales tax identification number, and are responsible for collecting and paying the required 7% sales tax. A team of volunteers are on site to help artists with booth set-up, booth relief, and breakdown.
