Art from the Heartland 2020

The Indianapolis Art Center is calling for entries for artists in any medium 18 or older living in the Midwest for a Juried Exhibition. The show will be juried by Bryn Jackson, Assistant Curator of Audience Engagement and Performance at Newfields (Indianapolis Museum of Art).

Eligibility: Open to all artists over 18 residing in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota, Iowa, or Missouri. Work must be made within the last two years and cannot have been previously shown at the Art Center. All work must be original and made by the artist or artist team; collaborative works are eligible. All media eligible, though installation artists should contact the center before applying. 2D artwork must not weigh more than 250 pounds or exceed 10' x 10'.

Entry fee is $25 for two pieces; each additional entry costs $5. Work samples: 2-6 images required, with optional audio (0-2) and video (0-2) files, totaling 2-10 samples maximum. Awards include: Best in Show ($1,500), Best in 2D ($500), Best in 3D ($500), five Honorable Mentions ($200 each), and two Director's Choice Awards ($250 and a solo exhibition each). Accepted work must remain on display through August 3, 2020. All work must arrive by June 1, 2020; artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance. The Art Center retains a 35% commission on all sales. Exhibition opens June 19, 2020, with a free public reception and award announcement at 6-9 p.m.
