About This Call
The Indianapolis Art Center is calling for entries for a juried exhibition open to artists 18 or older living in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota, Iowa, or Missouri. All media are eligible. Work must be made within the last two years and cannot have been previously shown at the Art Center. Installation artists should contact the Art Center before applying to ensure compatibility of space. 2D artwork must not weigh more than 250 pounds or be bigger than 10' x 10'.
The entry fee is $25 for the submission of up to two pieces of work. Each artist may submit 1-2 images and up to 2 videos. The exhibition will be juried by curator and art consultant Mindy Taylor Ross. Awards total $4,000 and include: Best in Show ($1,500), Best in 2D ($500), Best in 3D ($500), and five Honorable Mentions ($200 each). Additionally, the Indianapolis Art Center's Director of Exhibitions will select 2 Director's Choice Award winners, each receiving $250 and a solo exhibition. Awards will be announced at the opening reception on June 10, 2016.
Accepted work must remain on display until August 6, 2016. All work must arrive by June 3, 2016; artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance during transit. Work must be shipped in a reusable container, and return shipping is the artist's responsibility. Hand-delivered work may be dropped off May 2-June 3, 2016. Installation will take place June 5-9, 2016, and multi-media and installation artists should be available to assist. All work may be offered for sale, with the Art Center retaining a 35% commission on sales. The Art Center will insure the exhibition while on view.
