Art From the Heartland

Art From the Heartland is a juried exhibition open to artists over 18 residing in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Work must be made within the last two years and cannot have been previously shown at the Indianapolis Art Center. All work must be original and made by the artist.

Entry fee is $35 for the submission of two pieces ($24.85 for Indianapolis Art Center Members). Submissions should include four images—detail shots of two pieces. All media is eligible, including 2D, 3D, video, and installation. 2D artwork must not weigh more than 250 pounds or exceed 10' x 10'. Video and projected pieces require artists to provide their own equipment; video artists should submit still images and mail a DVD copy, which must be received by the November 8 deadline. Installation artists should contact the Art Center before applying. Artists must select one of four categories: 2D, 3D, Video, or Installation.

The juror will select a Best of Show award recipient, who will be granted a solo exhibition at the Indianapolis Art Center in 2011. All accepted work must remain on display through April 14, 2010. Work must arrive by January 25, 2010 by 6 p.m.; artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance. The Art Center retains a 35% commission on all sales. Work may be picked up April 15–30, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. The Art Center will insure the exhibition while on view and is responsible for returning shipped work beginning April 19.
