Art Forward Contests—Past & Present—Contest 3 Autumn 2015

Art Forward Contests is an online competition for contemporary painters and photographers. Gold Award Winners will have their work featured in a double-page advertisement in the November/December issue of Gallery Guide, a publication circulated to approximately 400 galleries nationally and internationally, 27 major art shows, and 20 prestigious art museums, with a claimed total viewership of 700,000 per issue. Silver and Bronze Award Winners will have their names printed in the same Gallery Guide ads. All 32 winners will have their images exhibited in the Winners Gallery, which has been accessed by more than 12,000 viewers.

Eligibility: Painters and photographers, 18 and older, at any career level, working anywhere in the world. The theme for Contest 3 Autumn 2015 is "Past & Present." Contemporary art created during and after 2000 in painting and photography disciplines qualifies. Painting includes collage and mixed-media techniques but not drawing, printing, or graphic arts. Photography includes black-and-white and color, digital and film, lomography, pinhole, classic printing processes, and computer manipulation, but not digital art. There are no size restrictions on original artwork.

Submission Requirements: Submit 3-13 JPEG images. File dimensions must be no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 ppi/dpi resolution, with a maximum file size of 5 MB. Basic submission of 3 images costs $35; additional images cost $5 each (up to 10 more). Work must be original and the artist must own the copyright. Submission fee is non-refundable. Art Forward Contests reserves the right to reproduce awarded art for publicity purposes; all copyrights remain with the artist. Entry deadline: 10/1/15 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jurors are Art Forward Contests founders Stuart Ochiltree and Henry Rasmussen. There are 32 total winners: 2 Gold Awards (1 painting, 1 photography), 6 Silver Awards (3 painting, 3 photography), and 24 Bronze Awards (12 painting, 12 photography).
