Art for the Mountain Community Sculpture Walk 2014-2015

Art in the Mountain Community (AMC) has established a program of art acquisition to beautify public buildings and open spaces in the mountain area of Jefferson County, Colorado and encourage the expression and appreciation of art through education and public activities. The annual Sculpture Walk is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display. Sculptures will be displayed in the foothills area west of Denver for one year.

Accepted artists will receive a $600 stipend. Additional awards include a $1000 Juried Award and a $700 People's Choice Award. Since the competition's inception, 29 pieces have been purchased by area art patrons. Sculptures must arrive in Evergreen on Friday, June 5th, 2014 (the date of the Sculpture Walk Artist's Reception), with installation on June 6th, 2014. Artists must be present for installation. Sculptures will remain on display until June 5th, 2015. All free-standing sculptures must be at least 48" tall. Outdoor wall sculptures will also be considered. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces at $25 entry fee. For each sculpture, provide 3 photos: frontal, rear, and one detailed image. All works must be original and identical to submitted images. Artists will be notified of acceptance by phone by February 27, 2014. Eligibility is national.
