Art for the Mountain Community Sculpture Walk 2013-2014

Art in the Mountain Community (AMC) has established a program of art acquisition that will beautify public buildings and open spaces in the mountain area of Jefferson County, Colorado and encourage the expression and appreciation of art through education and other public activities and programs. The annual Sculpture Walk is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display. These will be on display in the foothills area west of Denver for one year.

Accepted sculptures will receive a $600 stipend. Additional awards include a $1000 Juried Award and a $700 People's Choice Award. Since the inception of this competition, 29 pieces have been purchased outright by area art patrons. Sculptures must be suitable for outdoor display, with free-standing sculptures at least 48" tall. Outdoor wall sculptures will also be considered. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces, with each submission requiring 3 photos: frontal, rear, and one detailed image.

Entry fee is $20.00. Entries must be submitted by January 15, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified of acceptance by phone by February 20, 2013. Sculptures must arrive in Evergreen on Friday, June 7th for the Sculpture Walk Artist's Reception. Installation occurs June 8th, 2013, and artists must be present. Sculptures will remain in place for one year until June 2014.
