About This Call
Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado is inviting interested artists or groups of artists to submit qualifications and an artwork concept for an original two-dimensional work, three-dimensional sculptural work, or LED art work to be installed on an exterior wall of the Community Concert Hall located on campus. The wall is 82 feet wide and 45 feet high, located on the east side of the building and visible from approximately half of the campus.
At this time, the College is interested in the artist's qualifications and the anticipated cost for the artist and artwork. Applicants should include this information along with a statement about their vision for the art. When a work is selected for further consideration, the College will work closely with the artist to create a complete budget for the entire project, including costs for transportation, installation, and structural requirements. The proposal will then be presented to a donor who has expressed interest in making this project a reality.
Submissions must include 5-12 images and up to 5 videos (5-15 total samples). Up to 2 applications are allowed per artist. Prospective bidders may make written inquiries concerning the Request for Proposal to obtain clarification of requirements until February 5, 2015. Inquiries should be emailed to Wayne Hermes, Director of Purchasing, at [email protected] with the subject line "Inquiry – RFP3143 Public Art Work FLC Community Concert Hall." For technical questions, contact Cathy Gore at [email protected] or (970) 247-7561.
