About This Call
Art for Art's Sake Grants are part of Telluride Arts' Artist Grants (TAAGs) program and are awarded annually in two categories: visual arts and performing arts. Award amounts are $2,500 per category. These grants support artistic projects that will enrich the Telluride community through public display or performance. Applicants must live and/or work in the Telluride region. If you do not live or work in the region, you must explain your connection to the region or detail your local artist collaborators and their roles. There are no age limitations for applicants.
Applications must include: a statement of intention outlining project goals and vision, a project overview describing the project, timeline, and collaborators, an explanation of how grant funds will be used, a description of community benefit, a detailed project budget, and proof of cost documentation. Work samples may include literary, photo, audio, or video content that you own the rights to. Applicants must submit between 2 and 20 total work samples (minimum 1 image, maximum 10 images; maximum 5 audio files; maximum 5 video files). Applications must be in the name of an individual artist. TAAG applicants are limited to one submission per grant cycle. If an artist submits an application for a Professional Development grant, they will be ineligible to apply for additional TAAGs within the same calendar year, except Flash Grants. All TAAG funded projects must be shared with the Telluride community upon completion.
Applications are reviewed through a blind review process by a rotating panel of jurors, with all personal details and obvious indicators of applicant identity removed prior to review. Selection criteria include quality and artistic merit of the project, creativity and innovation demonstrated in the proposal, evidence of need for funding, a realistic project proposal with budget and timeline, and explanation of community benefit and engagement within the Telluride region. Grants will be awarded and all applicants informed of status by June 2, 2025. Entry deadline: May 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Contact: [email protected] or 970-728-3930.
