About This Call
YoloArts and partners invite California artists to participate in the 10th annual Art Farm Exhibition and Art Farm Gala. The exhibition features both juried and non-juried art (Art Harvest). Art awards totaling $2,300 will be announced at the Gala. These events raise awareness and funds for the YoloArts Art and Ag Project, which connects artists with Yolo County farmers and provides the community a glimpse into artistic expression and agriculture. Proceeds benefit the YoloArts Art & Ag Project, the Yolo Land Trust, and the Farm to School Program of the Yolo Farm to Fork Foundation.
Eligibility: 18 years or older and resident of Northern California. All artwork must be original, created in the last two years, and inspired by Yolo County farms and farmlands, open spaces, food and bounty, or agriculture. Artists may submit one work to Art Harvest (non-juried, all entries accepted) and optionally one work to the Juried Exhibition. Artwork must be hand-delivered to YoloArts Office (120 W. Main Street, Suite B, Woodland, CA) by September 13, 2017 between 9am-5pm. Entry fee: $10. Work sample requirements: 1-2 images. Artwork must be original, securely wired and ready to hang (2D work), no smaller than 8"x10" framed and no larger than 36"x36" framed. All artwork must be labeled on the back with artist name, title, media, dimensions, and date.
Exhibition dates: October 5 - November 28, 2017 at Gallery 625 (625 Court Street, Woodland, CA). Opening Reception: October 6, 5:30-8:00pm. Art Farm Gala: November 3, 6:00-9:00pm at Hotel Woodland (436 Main Street, Woodland, CA). Art Harvest entries sell for $250. Juried artwork sells in silent auction with opening bids at 1/3 of retail value or agreed amount. Artists receive 50% of proceeds or may donate 100% to the YoloArts Art and Ag Project. Juror: Frank Ordaz, Award-Winning California Fine Artist. Awards include Cream of the Crop ($750), Blue Ribbon Artist ($300), Best in Category ($250 for Painting/Drawing, Photography, and 3-Dimensional), Farmers Pick ($250), and People's Choice ($250).
