About This Call
Art & Ecology is an online juried exhibition hosted by O'Hanlon Center for the Arts, running March 20 to April 30, 2023. The exhibition invites artists to explore how art expresses the relationship between organisms and their environment. Submissions should address ecology, climate change, environmental resilience, and the hopes, fears, realities, and fantasies of planet earth and its organisms' survival and adaptability.
Artists may submit up to 3 images of individual pieces of artwork. All media are welcome except video, including photography, fiber, sculpture, mixed media, installations, and digital art. Diptychs and triptychs are considered one piece and must be submitted as a single image. The submission fee is $40 for non-members and $30 for O'Hanlon Members (use coupon code OH30). Limited partial scholarships are available; contact [email protected] for information. New members joining at the Artist level ($140/year) receive a free submission. Work does not need to be for sale. Art created with artificial intelligence tools is not eligible. The submission deadline is March 13, 2023 by 11 p.m. Pacific Time. Artists will be notified of jury results by email by March 17, 2023 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The exhibition will be professionally displayed in curated sections and archived on the O'Hanlon Center website after closing. A Zoom roundtable art discussion will be held on March 21 at 4 p.m. Pacific Time. The show is juried by Obi Kaufmann. Works previously shown at the O'Hanlon Gallery online are not eligible. The exhibition is open to all artists ages 16 and older worldwide.
