About This Call
Art Dash is a pop-up exhibition and sale event featuring original artwork by New England artists. The event takes place on Saturday, December 14, 2019, from 6-9pm at Beacon Gallery (524B Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118), with a gallery preview from 12-6pm the same day. Each selected artist will have between 3 and 6 pieces on view, all priced at $100, with artists receiving 100% of their sale proceeds. Purchased works will be taken home by buyers the night of the event.
Eligibility is open to all New England artists. Artwork must be 11" x 14" or smaller (when framed), ready-to-hang with wire or d-rings, and must hang on a wall. No jewelry is accepted. Artists may submit up to 6 pieces with high-resolution .jpg images (at least 1200 pixels wide). Each submission must include title, material, dimensions, and year completed. The submission fee is $65.00. All works will be insured while on site for the full sale value. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork; in-person delivery dates are December 7-8 and December 11-12, 2019 (12-5pm and 10-5pm respectively). Work retrieval is December 14 at 9pm.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by email on August 30, 2019, at 3pm EST. In compliance with Massachusetts law, artists will receive their funds within 30 days after the sale, along with full buyer contact information. The event is hosted by Beacon Gallery with refreshments provided by Aquitaine Restaurant Group and Lucas Bols Distillery. Jurors include Jessica Burko (artist and independent curator), Dina Deitsch (Director & Chief Curator, Tufts University Art Galleries), and Christine O'Donnell (Owner & Director, Beacon Gallery).
