About This Call
Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) is creating a roster of pre-qualified artists and inviting South Florida artists to submit qualifications for their Art Curation program. The program matches art with clients who want to purchase art for office spaces and curate temporary art exhibits at participating businesses. Accepted artists' work will be reviewed for projects in the following categories: 2-D Framed or Canvas, Sculpture, Fiber, Ceramic/Mosaic, and Environmental Installations.
Applicants must be South Florida residents and at least 18 years of age. Submissions must include: a brief artist statement or bio (no more than 2,000 characters), a resume or CV (no more than 2 pages), a list describing work samples with dimensions, title, and individual artwork prices (including a 25% commission to BFA), and 8-15 digital images of completed artwork. Up to 3 videos may be submitted if video best depicts the sample work. Artists may submit up to three applications if applying in multiple medium categories, but each category must be submitted separately.
BFA will review submissions based on completed application, cohesive body of work, artist experience and qualifications, artistic merit and unique design, compatibility with site requirements, compliance with safety requirements, and readiness for installation. When a client shows preference for a specific artist, BFA will contact the artist to discuss available work and schedule an exhibit, commission, or sale. BFA retains a 25% commission on any commissions or sales. Artists will be notified only if their work has been added to the roster. Deadline: August 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
