Art Call: The Living Mark

Verum Ultimum Gallery invites artists to explore the theme "The Living Mark" and enter work that is any interpretation of the call. All 2D mediums are welcome including painting, drawing, photography, graphics, and digital work. Works can be abstract, symbolic, realistic, representational, minimalist, or contemporary. Mark making is an integral part of the creative process and defines the picture plane or form. This call emphasizes the process with a focus on the individual style of the art maker.

Selected artists will be featured in a group exhibition at Verum Ultimum Art Gallery in Portland, Oregon from July 11–August 7, 2014, with an opening reception on July 11th. The exhibition will also be posted on the gallery website, and one artist will be featured in an online blog post interview. Wall-mounted works must not exceed 48" in height or 60" in width. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. The entry fee is $35.00 for one to three artworks submitted as digital JPG image files. Artists will be notified of acceptance by June 23, 2014 via email. Accepted artwork must be received by July 7, 2014. All works in the show must be for sale, with the gallery taking a 35 percent commission on sales. Sale price is determined by the artist.
