About This Call
Contemporary Art Projects USA presents a juried international exhibition "Help Hope Nepal Mural" at Spectrum Fair Miami 2015, December 2-6, 2015. This fundraising initiative benefits victims of the April 2015 Nepal Earthquake through the Maiti Relief Fund. Four hundred artists will participate in creating the mural, with an esteemed jury selecting 300 artworks (one per artist) based on artistic excellence, innovation, and originality. All applicants will be accepted to be part of the mural, with the jury deciding upon the artwork and potentially requesting additional images.
Accepted media includes computer art, mixed media, painting, photography, 3D printing, and innovative new technologies in art. Entry fee is $65.00 for one image, with additional images at $5.00 each (maximum 3 images). All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own sole copyright. Hanging works are limited to 10" height by 8" width, or 10" by 10" square pieces. Artists are encouraged to create small versions of larger artworks. All work must be available for sale. Artists receive 70% of sales, with Contemporary Art Projects USA retaining 30% commission, of which 15% is donated to Maiti Relief Fund. Contemporary Art Projects USA also donates 50% of entry fees to the relief fund.
Three artists will receive awards: First Prize includes participation at a major fair in 2016 with a curated 40" x 40" artwork; Second Prize offers three months placement at Contemporary Art Projects USA Amazon Fine Art Gallery; Third Prize includes an artist interview published in Art Daily News International Magazine. All work will be displayed in a printable online catalogue published by Mag Cloud. The exhibition is open to artists 18 years and older internationally. Jury members include Silvia Medina (Chief Curator of Contemporary Art Projects USA), Richard L. Tooke (former curator at Naples Museum of Art), and Paul Fisher (art dealer and founder of Juried Art Services). Local artists must deliver work December 1st between 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; unsold work must be picked up December 6th at fair closing time. International and national artists should ship work to Contemporary Art Projects USA, 13899 Biscayne Blvd. Suite PH 7, North Miami Beach, FL 33138.
