Art Attack: Boulder Creek Fest Teen Art Exhibition

Art Attack is a juried exhibition open to all residents of Boulder County between the ages of 13-18. Selected artists will have their work exhibited at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and are eligible for cash prizes. The exhibition welcomes artists working in both 2D and 3D mediums.

Eligibility Requirements: Artists must be between the ages of 13-18 at the time of entry and reside in Boulder County. Work must have been completed while the artist was between the ages of 13-18. Eligible artists may enter up to 3 works. Multimedia artworks such as video games, animations, film entries, or any other work requiring audio/video will not be considered. Accepted work must remain on display throughout the duration of the exhibit and must be delivered and retrieved in person during designated drop-off and pick-up times.

Presentation Requirements for 2D Work: White mats only with no inside mats of any other color. Artwork and mat must be mounted on rigid board or foam core. No frames, glass, plexiglas, or wood supports (wood supports are only approved with stretched canvas). Drawing, especially pastels and charcoal, must be fixed with appropriate fixative. Protecting pastel or charcoal surfaces with a transparent sheet such as glassine, acetate, and cellophane is highly recommended. For 3D Work: Package fragile artwork in sturdy boxes with sufficient padding. Label the outside of the box with the student's name and school. Place small parts in baggies and label accordingly. Provide image or instruction on how to display if needed. Pedestals will be provided for displaying 3D work. Entry deadline is April 30th, 2020, with notification in early May. Due to COVID-19, plans for a physical exhibition have been postponed. An online gallery of selected work will be hosted and cash prizes will be distributed as planned.
