About This Call
Art at the JCC - Santa Barbara Printmakers 2015 Juried Spring Exhibition will be held at the Santa Barbara Jewish Community Center, 524 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. The exhibition runs from April 12 through June 2, 2015, with an opening reception and awards ceremony on April 12 from 2-4 pm. The juror is Lynn Holley. Ten $100 Exhibit Excellence Awards will be given.
Eligibility is open only to members of the Santa Barbara Printmakers and invited guest artists who can hand deliver and collect work at the ingathering and show closing. The entry fee is $28.00 for up to three entries. Submissions must include 1-3 images of original, hand-pulled prints (not reproductions). Eligible media includes silkscreen, linocuts, lithographs, etchings, collagraphs, monotypes, monoprints, polymer etchings, and these traditional techniques in combination or combined with photochemical or digital printing, chine collé (but not collage), and hand-coloring with translucent media. Nude studies and violent images are not appropriate for this venue.
All work must be wired for hanging with frames in good condition. Glass should be clean and mats should be white or off-white with no colored liners and a minimum of 2" around the image unless the artwork is floated. Mats should not cover the plate mark (lithographs excepted) and images printed to the edges of the paper should be floated. Artwork delivery is Wednesday, April 8, 2015, between 10 am and 12 noon. Work pickup is June 3 between 10 am and 12 noon. No storage or shipping is available. The Jewish Community Center will handle sales and take a 25% commission.
