About This Call

The Art Around the Corner Foundation (AACF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, enriching the community, and bringing fine art to Southern Utah in partnership with the City of St. George. Celebrating 21 years, AACF recruits professional artists to participate in an "art on loan" program, selecting and installing approximately 35 new pieces of public art annually in outdoor galleries located in Historic Downtown St. George and at St. George Regional Hospital. Nationally renowned artists lend their works to AACF for one year, and all sculptures are offered for sale or lease to public and private collectors. A large number of displayed sculptures are sold each year, with over $1,000,000 in sales to date, including sculptures purchased by the City of St. George and St. George Regional Hospital for their permanent collections.

AACF seeks original large sculptures designed for public spaces that are visually engaging, encourage interaction, exemplify strong imaginative design, and incorporate durable sustainable materials. Sculptures must be at least 24 inches in height and/or diameter, sturdy enough to withstand children climbing and interacting with the art, and free of sharp edges or dangerous elements. Work should not require electricity, audio/visual technology, water, or other ongoing resources, and must comply with public safety standards, ADA requirements, and all applicable laws and codes. Materials must withstand Southern Utah's variable climate ranging from 25 degrees in winter to 115 degrees in summer.

Artists may submit a maximum of two pieces for consideration, each eligible for a $1,000 stipend if selected. Submissions must include three to five photos or a detailed sketch (photographs required by February 1, 2025 if accepted), a title and description of 150 words or less, material/size/weight specifications, and artist biography with headshot. The $25 entry fee applies per application. All submissions must be original creations and received online through CaFE by October 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Event dates are April 11-13, 2025.
