About This Call
The Art & Apples Festival is a juried fine art festival featuring 250+ top quality, national exhibitors, with an estimated attendance of 50,000 for the weekend. The festival is held annually the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Labor Day in the scenic 30-acre Rochester Municipal Park located in downtown Rochester, Michigan. Named one of the Top 10 (#9) Fine Art & Design Festivals of the Decade (2010-2020) by Sunshine Artist Magazine, the Art & Apples Festival consistently ranks in the publication's Top 50 for the category year after year.
The 2026 festival runs Friday, September 11th (2 pm – 7 pm), Saturday, September 12th (10 am – 7 pm), and Sunday, September 13th (10 am – 4 pm). The application fee is $35.00 and is non-refundable. Artists creating original fine art in accepted mediums are invited to apply, including 2D and 3D mixed media, ceramic, digital art, drawing, fibers (wearable and non-wearable), glass, jewelry (metal and non-metal), metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood. Production/fabrication groups, buy-sell, wholesale and MLM vendors are not accepted.
There are roughly 305 booths available each year, with approximately 18 artists accepted from each category based on jury scores. Artist amenities include 24-hour security, free artist reception dinner on Thursday evening, daily continental breakfast, artist hospitality tent with free snacks and bottled water, volunteer booth sitters as available, artist-only porta-potties, electrical access in select sections, ability to drive into the park for loading, free shuttle service on weekends, and designated artist liaison on-site. The festival serves as Paint Creek Center for the Arts' annual fundraiser, providing approximately 60% of PCCA's yearly operational budget.
