About This Call
The Cool Spring Downtown District, a charitable nonprofit organization advancing arts, entertainment, and economic opportunity in downtown Fayetteville, is seeking proposals from North Carolina-based artists, with special emphasis on artists located in Cumberland County, to be featured in Art Alley.
Art Alley is located at 222 Hay Street in the heart of Downtown Fayetteville and functions as an urban outdoor exhibit hall featuring regional artists. The alley features a Banner Trak system with five 70x70 inch windows designed to hang vinyl print artwork. Selected work will be printed and hung in Art Alley for a minimum of six months. A total stipend of $500 will be distributed to selected artists.
Proposals must include: artist name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and artist website or portfolio link; an artist statement explaining the selected images and interest in being featured in Art Alley; and up to seven high-resolution images (300 dpi) in PDF format. Only five images will be selected for display. All work must be photographed or submitted in high resolution (300 dpi) and sized to 70x70 inches. No 3D art will be reviewed. Artwork will be reviewed by a committee in early May and selected based on quality of work, creativity, artistic merit, use of composition, and geography of artist. Finalists will be decided without preference to racial or ethnic origins, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disability, or age. The Cool Spring Downtown District will be responsible for printing and installation of artwork and will not be held responsible for damage due to inherent vice or inclement weather. Submit proposals to [email protected] by April 15, 2021 at 5pm EST, or contact (910) 223-1089 with questions.
