Art Ability 2013-2014 Exhibition at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital

Art Ability is an international, juried exhibition and sale of art and fine crafts featuring work by artists with physical, cognitive, hearing, and visual disabilities. The 2013-2014 Annual Art Ability Exhibit and Sale runs from November 2, 2013 through January 21, 2014 at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, PA.

Eligibility is open to artists with physical, cognitive, visual, and hearing disabilities. Only work executed after the onset of disability or injury is eligible. All works must be for sale. Art previously exhibited in Art Ability is not eligible. Reproduction prints will not be accepted. Artists must state their disability and provide a selling price reflecting framed artwork. Eligible media includes works on paper, canvas or board, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, photography, and fine crafts. Artwork may not exceed 48" overall height, and sculpture weighing more than 25 lbs will not be accepted.

Submissions require 1-6 images. Initial review is conducted by the Art Ability committee and exhibition curator. Artists accepted will be asked to send actual framed work. Distinguished members of the greater Philadelphia arts community will award prizes in several artistic categories. More than $7,000 in prizes will be awarded, including prizes of $1,000, $500, $250, $200, $150, and $50. Artists will be notified of preliminary acceptance by August 16, 2013. Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital retains a 20% commission on all sales during the 12-week exhibition. Works not sold will be returned to the artist.
