About This Call
Arrow Electronics and the Cherry Creek Arts Festival present the Arrow Five Years Out Art Challenge, inviting artists from throughout the world to explore the notion of innovation and express what Five Years Out looks like through their artistic medium. This open competition is available to artists working in any media, including painters, glass blowers, wood turners, new media creators, and digital artists. Artists may apply individually or as a team.
Seven finalists will each receive a $5,000 commission to create their piece for display at the 2016 Cherry Creek Arts Festival. One winner will be selected to receive the Innovation Award of $10,000 and a jury-exempt invitation to exhibit at the 2017 Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The seven pieces of art will become part of Arrow's innovative collection and may be featured in a global ad series and in offices around the world.
Applications must be submitted electronically by midnight MST on Friday, March 11, 2016. Applicants must submit five images of previously completed artworks, a detailed description of the artwork they intend to create, and a current resume. Artists submitting kinetic, sound, or electronic media works must also upload a video or sound file. Artwork must be portable, structurally sound, and weigh no more than 150 lbs. Finalists will be notified on Friday, April 8, 2016, and artwork must arrive at CCAF offices no later than June 15, 2016. Shipping costs and professional crating must be included in the $5,000 commission. Selection criteria include innovative ideas, creative depiction of the Five Years Out theme, professional qualifications, artistic merit, and portability of artwork.
