Arizona Aqueous XXXV

Arizona Aqueous XXXV is a national juried exhibition of water-based pigments on paper. Eligible work includes paper constructions, paper sculpture, paper collage, cut paper, mobiles, two or three dimensional wall pieces, and installations. Work must be innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract, and must have been completed within the last 24 months. Work previously displayed at TCA is not eligible. All work must be original creations by the artist; giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted.

The exhibition runs January 15 - February 21, 2021. Juror Jim Waid is a Tucson-based abstract landscape painter known for his intricate, brightly hued canvases that reveal suggestions of flora, microscopic organisms, and desert landscapes. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Juror's Award ($500), Award of Excellence ($250), Award of Merit ($100), and two Honorable Mention awards ($75 each). Entry fee is $36 ($32 with TCA Member discount), plus $5 per additional entry image up to 4 entries ($3 with member discount). All artwork must arrive ready to hang, suitably matted in white, black, or neutral colors, simply framed and firmly wired with no sawtooth hangers. All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and must provide a barcoded prepaid shipping label for return of unsold work.
