About This Call
A national juried exhibition of water-based pigments on paper. Eligible entries include paper constructions, paper sculpture, paper collage, cut paper, mobiles, two or three dimensional wall pieces, and installations. Artists are urged to enter innovative work, whether representational or abstract. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at Tubac Center for the Arts. Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted. All work must be original and entirely the creation of the artist.
Juror: Barbara Kemp Cowlin, a painter working in acrylic with a focus on capturing light, shadow, reflections, and movement. She holds a BFA in Printmaking and a Masters degree in Community College Education from Northern Arizona University, with post-graduate work in letterpress printing and bookmaking at Arizona State University.
Entry fee: $33.00 (or $32 with TCA Member discount using code AZ34). Additional entries: $5.00 each (or $3 with member discount). Up to four works may be entered. All artwork must arrive ready to hang, suitably matted in white, black, or neutral colors, and firmly wired with no sawtooth hangers. All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and must provide a prepaid shipping label for return of unsold work. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close on November 17, 2019, including sold art. Awards: Best of Show $1,000, Juror's Award $500, Award of Excellence $250, Award of Merit $100, Honorable Mention $75 (two awards). Exhibition dates: October 11 - November 17, 2019. Opening reception: October 11, 5-7pm.
