Architecture of Form

Architecture of Form is the 5th annual exhibition at Core Art Space in Lakewood, Colorado. The exhibition embraces an aesthetic of architectural hard-edge styles and influences from various historical and contemporary movements including DeStijl, early Russian Avant Garde, Constructivism, Art Concret, Suprematism, graphic design, fonts/text, and Bauhaus, with emphasis on the principle that form follows function. The style is modern, clean, and non-objective. Both 3D and 2D work in all media and processes will be considered.

The juror is William Logan, founder, publisher, and editor of Modern in Denver Magazine, an architecture, art and design publication. Logan has directed the magazine for over 15 years and founded Denver Design Week in 2016.

Core Art Space invites all artists in the region working in any medium (2D and 3D, except video and installations). Work must be no larger than approximately 48 inches wide by 8 feet in height, including frame. Entries must be submitted electronically by April 10, 2024, with a $35 entry fee for up to 3 works. Accepted work must arrive by May 3, 2024 at 4 p.m. The exhibition runs May 10-26, 2024, with an artist reception on May 10 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. Notification of acceptance will be sent by April 15, 2024. Judging will consider overall impact, content, composition, mastery of techniques, creativity, and craftsmanship.
