Arborescent II National Juried Exhibition

ARBORESCENT II is a national juried exhibition welcoming entries of traditional and alternative photography, painting, printmaking, mixed media works, and small sculpture regarding trees—their branches, trunks, roots, leaves, bark, new growth, buds, decay, single trees, stands of trees, or forests.

The exhibition is open to artists and photographers 18 years or older from the United States. Twenty-five works will be selected for the physical gallery exhibition (August 19 – September 17, 2023), and twenty additional works will be selected for an online exhibition looped on a monitor inside the gallery. All works must be framed in white or natural light wood or matte metal with a maximum framed width of 25 inches. The juror is Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Executive Director of Southampton Arts Center. Awards include First Place ($700 plus opportunity for two larger pieces in the Spring 2024 exhibition), Second Place ($350), and Third Place ($200).

Submission deadline is June 23, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $45 for three works, with $5 per additional work up to a maximum of five works. Notification of accepted works will be sent by July 5, 2023. Framed works must arrive at the gallery August 9–12, 2023. All works must be for sale with a 50/50 commission split between artist and gallery. Works must remain available for the duration of the exhibition and cannot be displayed elsewhere during the exhibition period. The gallery retains sales exclusivity for six months after the exhibition and geographic sales exclusivity for Long Island, NY (including Brooklyn and Queens) for six months thereafter. Unsold works must be picked up October 9–15, 2023. Shipping to and from the gallery is the artist's responsibility.
