Aquarius National Watermedia Exhibition 2016

The Aquarius National Watermedia Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older residing in the U.S.A. Work must be predominately water media. No digital art, photography, or reproductions are accepted. Source material must be original and not derived from published images not owned by the artist. Work must not have been previously shown in a SCWS Exhibition nor shown at Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center. Artists may enter up to three works, but only one work per artist will be accepted.

Entry fees are $45 for non-members and $35 for SCWS members. Entries are submitted online through CaFE (callforentry.org) with a deadline of May 31, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Image files must be JPEG format, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and 3 MB maximum. All entries will be juried by Linda Baker. Notifications will be posted on CaFE on July 1, 2016.

Accepted artwork may be shipped or hand delivered to Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, 210 N. Santa Fe Ave., Pueblo, CO 81003. Shipped artwork must arrive between August 1-5, 2016, and hand-delivered work is due August 9, 2016 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The exhibition opens August 20, 2016 and ends November 6, 2016. All accepted artwork must be professionally presented and ready for hanging with wire and hardware in place. No glass, only plexiglass will be accepted. All works must be offered for sale. A 40% commission is charged on all sales by Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center. Cash awards include Best of Show ($1,100), First Place ($700), Second Place ($550), Third Place ($300), SCWS Award ($250), Peoples' Choice ($200), and three Merit Awards ($100 each). An Awards Reception will be held October 7, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Linda Baker Watercolor Workshop is also offered October 5-7, 2016 for $300 (SCWS members) or $325 (non-members), with a $150 registration deposit due by June 30, 2016.
