Apply to be a 2026 Cuyama Action Fellow!

The Cuyama Action Fellowship, funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, seeks artists of any discipline (Visual Art, Film, Music, Writing, Theater, Dance, Design, etc.) with new or established social practice to support creative community development in the Cuyama Valley. Two artists or artist groups will be selected for two separate fellowships.

Each fellowship is four weeks long, structured as two weeks in spring and two weeks in fall of 2026. In the first two weeks, fellows will receive an orientation to learn about Cuyama and its residents, adjust project proposals as needed, and begin work on their projects. In the second two weeks, fellows will return to the Cuyama Valley to complete their proposed project.

Each fellow (artist or team) will receive a $7,000 artist stipend. Limited travel support is provided as reimbursement, and a limited budget is allocated for supplies. Applications are open through Saturday, February 28th.
