APERTURES

APERTURES is an international photography competition open to amateur and professional photographers worldwide. Photographers may submit up to 20 images in any style, including film, digital, alternative process, and iPhone photography. Open theme; any subject matter is accepted. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.

Entry fees are $15 for members or $20 for non-members for the first image, with an additional $5 fee per image for up to 20 total submissions. Winners will be announced on September 23 and displayed in the online gallery at www.cultural-center.org beginning October 7. Awards include First Place ($500), Second Place ($200), and Third Place ($100). Six Honorable Mentions will be recognized in the categories of Landscape, Seascape, People, Animals, Floral, and Abstract. The First Place winner's image may be displayed in the Cultural Center's Photography and Digital Arts Studio. Jurors will make selections by director's choice; no personal feedback is provided. Notification will be sent by email. All images must be submitted in JPEG format, minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi, with a maximum file size of 5 mb.
