Annual Maritime Art Exhibition

This exhibition is hosted by Coos Art Museum and is open to members of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA). Non-members may join ASMA and then apply. Artists must submit recent works created within the past six years (2019 or later). Works previously exhibited at Coos Art Museum are not eligible.

Eligible media include paintings and sculpture only. Prints, photography, giclée prints, and paint-enhanced giclée prints are not eligible. Paintings are limited to 60 inches in any one direction (including frame) with a weight limit of 20 lbs. Sculpture is limited to 60 inches in any one direction with a weight limit of 25 lbs. If a work is part of a series, the submitted piece must be unique and distinguishable from other works by the same artist. Accepted works must match the digital images submitted.

Submissions require high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background distractions, and must be oriented correctly. Entry fees are $35 for the first work and $10 for each additional work. The entry deadline is March 14, 2025. Awards include Best of Show ($750), Oregon International Port of Coos Bay Award ($250), Coos Art Museum Board of Directors Choice ($250), The People's Choice Award ($250), and four Honorable Mention awards.
